Another business building improvement on Marion’s Main Street is the Peter Pan Ice Cream store. The building, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Homer Reinke, was completely remodeled by Reuben Zerger, Marion contractor. The building is most attractive and a fine improvement to the business district.

An unusual catch for this part of the country was made last week by John Russell. He shot a red fox while hunting near “Dead Man’s Bridge,” south of Marion. A few fox have been bagged by local hunters in recent years, but not many.

Four charming Marion High School girls are currently being voted on for the title “Queen of the Court.” They are Tressie Miles, Karen Jost, Donna Jost, and Julia Wooldridge.

Weather permitting, construction goes ahead on many new homes for Marion residents. Currently under construction is the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Higgins on North Lincoln, a home on South Freeborn being built by Herb Bredemeier, several homes being built by Tony Schafers on what will a south extension of Coble Street, and a new home for Ed Hauser on North Lincoln.
