The 1960 U.S. population census is in full swing, and within the next 10 days to two weeks, figures to compile an up-to-date picture of the changes over the past 10 years will be on the books.

Tuck Tucker, James Meisner, and Dick Morse attended a Presbyterian Youth meeting at El Dorado last Friday and Saturday.

Drying weather finally made it possible to complete moving the Lutheran church building from the county line east of Marion into the city. The church building is being set on a foundation prepared for it as an enlargement to the present Lutheran church in Marion.

With little fanfare, oil activity in Marion County continues to grow and new field expansions are being brought in regularly. The Record will attempt to report a complete survey of the field near Strassburg in the next week or two.

Marion County’s grade school spelling bee will be held April 7 in the district courthouse in Marion.
