Ed Navrat has leased his filling station in Marion to Dick Bredemeier, effective May 1. The station at the corner of East Main and Roosevelt streets will be named “Dick’s 66 Service.
The Junior Class of Marion High School will present their play, “You Can’t Take It With You,” Friday evening at the city auditorium. Cast members are Patty Longhofer, Eileen Pavey, Karen Schlesener, John Christensen, John Russell, Tuck Tucker, Larry McKibben, Jerry Loveless, Julia Wooldridge, Jim Melton, Ron Oelschlager, Jerry Schwemmer, Tressie Miles, Thad Meierhoff, Karen Jost, Jerry Domke, Delbert Matz, Barry Olsen, and Janet Stiller.
Nomination papers are being circulated over the county for Edwin G. Westerhaus for the office of county attorney, a candidate on the Republican ticket. Westerhaus presently is a partner in the law offices of Wheeler and Westerhaus.
The teacher staff for Marion schools for the 1960-61 term is about complete. At Bown-Corby, the same staff as this year remains. Maude Thompson, principal, Mary Ediger and Ruth Montgomery in grade 1, Helen Klassen and Ruby Haizlip in grade 2, Alma Schlotthauer and Mildred Mayginnes in grade 3, and Wanda Williams in kindergarten.
