Sue Summervill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Summervill, will represent the Marion Kiwanis Club in the Marion County Dairy Princess contest to be held at Hillsboro June 20.

Monday evening, June 13, was a wet, chilly evening, but it didn’t dampen the reception of the “June Fete” put on by five little girls. The performers were Pam and Patti Vinduska, Mary Jo and Judy Reznicek, and Kathy Winter. Those attending the performance were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vinduska, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Reznicek, and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Winter.

R.J. Bateman will leave Fort Bliss, Texas, June 18 and will report on June 22 to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. He is a specialist technician at a Nike Hercules Missile Base.

Lois Kelsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kelsey, and Donald Pracht, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Pracht of Wichita, recited double ring marriage vows June 12 at the First Christian Church, Marion.

Another example of wanton destruction of property was reported last week by Jim Loney. Someone entered his pasture and killed his entire flock of tame ducks, leaving their bodies lay where they fell. They had been killed with rifle shots through the head.
