The first baby of the New Year to be born at St. Luke Hospital is Lynley Sue Gutsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gutsch of Lincolnville. Lynley Sue was born Jan. 3 and weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces. She has a young brother, Scott.

A major downtown building renovation and redecoration has been completed this week, and the new offices have been opened. The Wm. H. Ward Agency is now in operation in the new location at the corner of Fourth and Main streets, adjoining the Holmes Gamble Store. It formerly was occupied by Jo and Jim’s Children’s Shop.

Mrs. Rosa Schoenhals announces the engagement of her daughter, Joyce Ann Remmers, to Gerald L. Mott, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Mott of Peabody.

In the Marion Junior Bowling League this week individual high 30 and high 10 went to Jim Keazer with 388 and 135.

The Strassburg BYF enjoyed a “traveling supper” Thursday evening. Juice was served at the Ezra Schimpf home. Mrs. Dave Krispense, with the assistance of Mrs. Roland Stenzel served the main course, Mrs. Art Schlehuber served ice cream, and Helen Schick and Mrs. Paul Vogel served pie. Those attending were Rev. and Mrs. Charles Littman and Alan, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Schimpf, Anita Schick, Sally Dunn, Jeanine Skibbe, Anita Schlehuber, Jerald Skibbe, Diane Henderson, Don Stenzel, Howard Stenzel, Georgia Helmer, Garry Vogel, Gene Schimpf, and Steven Krispense.
