The Marion Industrial Development Corporation, the Marion County ASCS, and the Marion County SCS will hold public open house Dec. 8 for the public to view the new facilities housing these government offices. The building is located at 119 South Coble Street.

A total of 6,000 doses of Sabin oral vaccine for Marion Countians is in cold storage this week, awaiting next week’s countywide drive aimed at wiping out all polio and possible polio carriers.

Five youngsters got a real thrill Friday evening when their names were drawn in the first of two boys’ and girls’ Christmas drawings. First prizewinner of the brand new bicycle was Cynthia Highsmith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Highsmith. Two second prizes of flash camera outfits went to Ruth Morse and Gail Whiteman. Two third prizes of a basketball goal and big doll went to Randy Mott and Barbara Hill.

Clarence and Winnie Conyers invite the public to an open house at Conyers Flowers Sunday afternoon of this week to look over their ideas for Christmas decorating. Refreshments and favors will be offered.

Two Scout executives will be here Tuesday night to help parents learn how to organize a Boy Scout troop in Marion. The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Elementary School.

Marion residents and visitors have been interested in the construction at east edge of town of town of the half-million-gallon water storage tower.
