Three Marion Girl Scouts, all named Jan, got a special treat last Saturday at Emporia—they climbed up to the cab door of the big Santa Fe diesel engine to meet the engineer before their special streamliner left on a day’s round trip to Abilene. The three are Jan VanBuren, Janice Jantz, and Jan Herrick.

The musical, “Oklahoma,” will be presented by the Marion High School senior class Nov. 22-23. The story revolves around Laurey, portrayed by Donna Hanschu, and Curly, played by Chris Hauser. Other major parts will be played by Max Jackson, Connie Warneke, Doug Bass, and Tom Tucker. Ruby Winkley is the accompanist.

Jack Beaston, Forrest Smith, Bill Holmes and Alex Case Jr. spent the weekend pheasant hunting near Dodge City.
