Marion Auto Supply, a fast growing Marion business, has purchased the building formerly owned by Frank Nelson on Marion’s Main Street. The auto supply, which is owned by Jack Regnier, will move into the former Nelson building by March 1st.

James A. Wheeler, M.D., prominent Newton physician and pediatrician, has retired from his longtime association with Axtell Clinic there and is moving his home and medical practice to Marion.

Robert F. Hagans of Mission has been named vice president and treasurer of Pay Way Foods. He has been with this growing Kansas City feed firm for eight years. He is the brother of Mrs. Alex Case Jr.

Births announced in this issue are those of Katherine Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Clasen of Florence, born Jan. 30 and Kevin LaMoine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion K. Kelsey, born Feb.3.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Base of Rozel announce the engagement of their daughter, Barbara, to Alvin Kroupa, son of Mrs. Josephine Kroupa of Lincolnville. The couple plans an August wedding.

Marion friends will be happy to learn that Pfc. James W. Melton, son of Dr. and Mrs. R.R. Melton, was nominated as “soldier of the month” for January at his camp near Frankfurt, Germany.

Alfred Kohls won $5 and Mrs. Charles Stinchcomb won a bag of groceries at a drawing held Saturday at Tiemeier’s in Lincolnville.
