Through the cooperation of a number of groups, Marion’s first annual combined “Spring Show” is all set for next Saturday, May 23. It will be an all-day affair put on at the athletic grounds east of town and in the business district as well. Each element of the show is a big event in itself, and a large crowd of visitors is expected.

Miss Janet Patton from Riverton has been employed by the Marion County Executive Board of the Agricultural Extension Council to serve as the new Marion County Home Economics agent.

Community Guild celebrated its 44th birthday Monday with its “Tribute to Community Guild” program. Highlight of the evening was the presentation of five of the original six charter members. Corsages were pinned on Audrey (Higgins) Carpenter, Eldena (Williamson) Willey, Clara Duncan, Jewell Amick, and Edna (Frazer) Shahan.

County Engineer James Meisner and Commissioners Merilatt and Hiebert went to Tulsa, Okla., on Wednesday of this week to be present at the bid letting for the start of construction of the Marion Reservoir.

Margaret Ann Weber was honored with a linen shower May 8th at the home of Mrs. Bill Hatterman. She also was honored May 6 at a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Arthur Hett. Miss Weber is the bride-elect of Ora Hett. The wedding is planned for the last of May.
