Mayor Ira Newcomer and Finance Commissioner Earl Kreuter will each receive a 10-year service pin Monday at the 54th annual City Convention of the League of Kansas Municipalities at the Lassen Hotel in Wichita.

The John Adams family held its 12th annual reunion Sept. 13 at the National Guard Armory at Emporia. There were 42 in attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Widler entertained with a party Saturday afternoon at the Marion City Park honoring their daughter Jeanne’s ninth birthday. Those present were Paula Edmunds, Lisa Holmes, Nancy Bennett, Debra Vogel, Debra Heidel, Janie Schrader, Janet Stika, Teresa Case, Susie Lundgren and Denice Helmer.

At the Boy Scout Court of Honor last Thursday evening the following scouts received badges: Norman Alexander, James Mayginnes, and Ramon Mayginnes, second class badge; Mike Steinel, first class badge; Maurice Allen, Star badge; and Daniel Steinel, Life badge.

Pilsen News by Mrs. Mike Navrat—Fall is coming. Farmers are busy harvesting milo and making seed bed preparations. Women are finishing up the season with their garden produce and the canning of tomatoes, cabbage, turnips, plums, pears, and apples. Many youths have left for higher learning.

Lyle Hanschu of Ramona was one of the top winners among the six dairy breed champions in 80 4-H entries at the Mid-America Fair in Topeka. Lyle showed the Jersey Reserve Champion; took third in Jersey yearling heifers, and second in Jersey heifers or cows. He also place third in Jersey fitting and showing.
