Three school districts in southern Marion County voted overwhelmingly in favor of consolidation Monday evening. Burns, Summit, and Peabody will become one consolidated district.

James Smith was installed Tuesday night as master of Centre Lodge AF&AM in ceremonies at the Masonic Temple. Ira Newcomer was the installing master and Rosse Case acted as marshall.

Clara Williams and son Don entertained employees of the Cozy Café and their families with a dinner Sunday at the Town and Coountry Café. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Winter, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Winters, Connie Stage, Mary Ann Winter, Ruth Johnson and Sandra Winkley.

Brownie Scout Troop 63 met at the James Druse home last Monday and chose new officers. Patrol leader is Nancy Bennett, assistant Susie Lundgren, scribe Debbie Link, and troop treasurer, Betty Linn.

Marion High School Pep Club is sponsoring a soup supper Friday before the Cottonwood-Marion basketball game.

Mrs. Clinton Frick, JoAnn and Nancy of Durham returned home Dec. 5 after spending two weeks sightseeing in Washington, D.C., and visiting Mrs. Frick’s sister, Grace Steckel.

The Record photographer, working with a new camera, took a number of pictures during Santa’s visit Thursday night. The only one that came out suitable for reproduction was of his own two sons, Jimmy and Billy.
