If you are interested in go-carts and would like to see a track established in Marion, then you are invited to contact either Willie Helmer or Francis May. The track would be for kids, as a means of entertainment.

The driveway at Marion Elementary School will be chained-off from about 11:40 each morning until 12:30 in an attempt to provide more dry play area for the children, according to Charles Campbell, superintendent of schools.

A caution light is being installed at the east edge of town, near the city limits. It is at the Country Club hill, and warns motorists that they are approaching town and should reduce speed.

George Jackson, junior at Marion High School, was elected president of the Student Council Tuesday. He defeated Darold Longhofer. Wallace Slusser was elected vice president, defeating Mary Westerhaus. Pat Warneke was elected secretary, winning over Tony McElain, and Judy Pankratz was elected treasurer, over Lavonda Hett.

John Adams of Marion received $50 in this week’s Cash Day drawing. Henry Schimpf, Marion, missed $20; Mrs. Irwin Williams, Marion, received $10; Joseph C. Rogers, Marion, missed $5; and Agnes Ehrlich, Marion, received $15. First prize next Wednesday will be $50.
