Plans are complete for the combined “Kid’s Day” celebration and parade with the Miniature Santa Fe Trail Wagon Train Caravan in Marion July 13.
Births at St. Luke Hospital this week include Helen Lorene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Endres Jr. of Marion, Jody Lynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Ray of Herington, and Charles William, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Svoboda of Lincolnville, all born July 3, and Caren Faith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myron D. Klein of Herington born July 6.
Class of 1950, Marion High School, held its 15-year reunion July 3rd in Central Park and at the Owl Car Café. Mrs. Richard Janzen had charge of general arrangements with Mrs. Glen Conyers in charge of decorations, Mrs. James Fruechting and Norma Sly with entertainment, and Roger Hannaford and Dick Bredemeier with refreshments.
Neva Kelsey of Marion and Sandra Janzen of Lincolnville, students at Wichita Business College, are listed as two contestants in the International Beauty Congress Pageant, the winner of which will represent Kansas at a pageant to be held in Long Beach, California.
The women’s softball team won its first game Friday night, defeating the Florence women’s team. Mary Ann Finke was the winning pitcher with Janet Meisinger behind the plate. Norma Kline pitched the last inning for the winners.
