Lynn Christensen, Marion’s mayor and for a long time associated with the farm equipment business here, this week purchased the Lewerenz interest in Marion Equipment Co., Inc. and became the full owner of the local International Harvester dealership.

June Jost, well-known Marion farmer, has been added to the Marion City Police force, effective at once. He replaces Francis May who tendered his resignation to the city commission this Monday in order to take a position at Beech Aircraft at Wichita.

Marion High School students have a project going—they are collecting a variety of small items to send to an impoverished village in Viet Nam. The village to which items will be sent has been referred to Marine Captain Richard Schwartz, who is serving in South Viet Nam. He and his outfit have been asked to pick out the village and to oversee the distribution of the items.

Larry Robertson, young pumper for Slusser Drilling Company, is reported much improved following a serious accident last Thursday. He somehow got his head caught in the pumping mechanism while listening for an unusual squeak it was making. After regaining consciousness, he drove himself from Dickinson County back to the company shop at Marion. From there he was taken to St. Luke, then on to a specialist in Wichita where he says he is ready to return home.
