High on the county’s priority list will be a new bridge to replace the old “Red Bridge” over Clear Creek just north of Marion. Built before the turn of the century, it has been a danger spot for some time, and county workmen will start soon on the job of replacing it.

Miss Janet Michele Frick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Frick of Durham, became the bride of Raymond Carl Bielefeld, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bielefeld of Hope, February 20 at the Durham Baptist Church.

A number of Marion friends went to Topeka Saturday for a pleasant outing, including dinner at the Myron Green restaurant and the Hank Thompson stage show at Topeka Municipal Auditorium

Mr. and Mrs. Royal Smith entertained with a dinner Sunday in honor of Craig 7, and Jalynn 1, who celebrated their birthdays February 18.

Marion “Mashers” will play Tabor College Junior Varsity in a special game February 25 at the Tabor field house. The Mashers have also been invited to play the Harlem Magicians in a special exhibition game in the Florence High School gymnasium on March 8.

Five Marion Boy Scouts were especially honored at the Scout Court of Honor Monday evening. They received their first advanced rating above First Class Scout and were presented with
Star Scout pins. Those honored are Lance Alexander, James Mayginnes, Terry Plenert, Raymon Mayginnes, and Charles McElwain.
