Judy Pankratz of Marion was crowned “1966 Marion County Fair Queen” as the concluding highlight of this year’s fair at Hillsboro. Judy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pankratz of Marion and a 1966 graduate of Marion High School.

Mrs. Dwight Kruse entertained her Sunday school class with a picnic dinner Sunday noon at the Kruse home. Those present were Debra Kreutziger, Laurel Bernhardt, Janet Ehrlich, Gail Whiteman, Barry Seifert, and Tim Kaufman.

The engagement of LaVonda Marie Hett to Lewis I. Rothman of Queens, New York, is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Hett. No wedding date has been set.

Births announced this week were those of Pamela Sue Bevan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bevan of Lost Springs, born August 26; Paula Faye Klein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myron D. Klein of Lincolnville, August 29; Carey Grant Jost, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Jost of Marion, August 27; Debra Ann Carr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carr of Marion, August 19; and Brenda Kay Leppke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Leppke of Buena Vista, Colorado, born August 9.
