A classic, cut stone, one-room rural schoolhouse, typical of the history-filled days of Kansas, will soon come back to life on the campus of Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia. Such a schoolhouse, located in Marion County, and in a remarkable state of preservation for its 93 years of age, is the Dobbs School that has been donated to the college by Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kruse.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor honored their son, Bruce, with a surprise birthday supper October 18 to celebrate his 9th birthday. Guests were Jay Schwendiman, Jerry Conyers, Ronnie Ehrlich, and Greg Vogel.

Jackie Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Thomas, was crowned football queen at Marion High School Friday evening. Her attendants were Roxanna Zerger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Zerger, and Susan Lentz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lentz.

The Loney brothers, Thomas and John, both met with injuries the past week. Thomas fell from his pony and was hospitalized with a broken collarbone. John received a severe injury at the football game Friday evening and was taken to Halstead Hospital where he underwent surgery.

Girl Scout Troop 60 was recently organized. Troop members are Martha Beaston, Diana Case, Gayle Hannaford, Kathy Kelsey, Carol Steinel, Debra Heidel, Lisa Holmes, Cathy Newlin, Diana Roberts, Suzanne cook, Marianne Elling, Neva Oller and Norma Heidel.
