The Corps of Engineers announce this week that they are ready to present their proposed plan for improvements for flood control and other purposes at and in the vicinity of Marion. A public hearing will begin at 10 a.m. June 8.

Dr. E.K. Schroeder, Marion dentist, has moved from his former location in the Case Building to a brand new and attractive office recently completed at the corner of East Main and South Roosevelt. Reuben Zerger, Marion, was the general contractor.

Mrs. Dale Vogel entertained with a surprise party after school Thursday in honor of her daughter, Debbie’s 12th birthday. Girls present were Jo Marie Mueller, Linda Goentzel, Debbie Heidel, Mary Ann and Diana Evans, and Janet Ehrlich. Sue Woerz was unable to be present.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Snelling of the Marion County Lake community announce the birth of a daughter, Leann Marie, born May 8 at St. Luke Hospital.

The nation’s number one polka band, 6 Fat Dutchmen, is coming to the Starlite Ballroom in Pilsen May 18. Now in its 35th season, the band has 500 recordings on Dot and RCA records.
