Real winter weather came back with a rush this morning, Thursday, with snow and high winds that made driving conditions about as bad as any this winter. Highways are open, but dangerous.
The Marion Warriors came through the district Class A basketball tournament at Moundridge last week unscathed, winning both games and emerging as champions. Marion, Abilene, Nickerson, and Sacred Heart of Salina, top Class A basketball teams will compete in Marion tonight and tomorrow night for regional championship honors and the opportunity of going to the state tournament.
The “open house” celebration at Marion National Bank Thursday afternoon and evening was a highly successful affair, and drew a large crowd of interested spectators in a steady stream. The open house was to acquaint the public with the new banking facilities, remodeled last fall.
Dr. and Mrs. Chas. Magee, Mr. and Mrs. Max Jackson, Dr. and Mrs. Earl Wood, and Mr. and Mrs. Rosse Case left Sunday for Idaho Springs, Colo., for a skiing trip.
David Wheeler, junior law student at Washburn University, Topeka, spent the weekend at home. He has been elected associate editor of the Washburn Law Review, which is published in the Kansas Bar Journal.
