Surveying crews operating recently in the Lehigh vicinity have aroused speculation of a possible site in the vicinity for one of the launching sites of an Atlas intercontinental missile base. The Air Force announced last week that such a base had been approved in conjunction with Schilling AFB in Salina.

Three Marion High School teachers, D.B. Jantz, Edward Frickey, and James Wilson, received word Monday each had been awarded summer fellowships by the National Science Foundation.

Members of Coach Floyd Yaussi’s championship Marion Warriors 1959 team are Ronnie Oelschlager, Gerald Kelsey, Dennis Navrat, John Christensen, Gary Vogel, Delbert Matz, Jerry Schwemmer, Delton Richmond, Gary Helmer, Warren Vogel, Jim Gilbert, and Marion Kelsey.

The annual Brownie Scout cookie sale is completed. The fourth grade troop sold 300 boxes with Marsha Childs selling 107 and Linda Sutherland 40. The third grade troop sold 156 boxes. Cindy Powell sold the most with 26 boxes and Linda Helmer was second with 21. The second grade troop sold 212 boxes. Kathy Winter sold 54 boxes and Kathy Weber was next with 26.
