News of a further merger, which affects the huge Tip Top Dairies organization, has broken this week, showing that the large cooperative has merged with the Armstrong Creamery of Wichita. The Hillsboro creamery joined with the Sunflower Co-op Creamery Association, forming the largest dairy organization in the state. The company will be known as the Sunflower Tip Top Dairies.

Announcement was made today of the purchase by Mr. and Mrs. Al Hunt of the Coons’ Restaurant in the Elgin Hotel. The change will take place next Wednesday, April 15.

An attempt to break into the vault and safe at the Durham State Bank Monday night failed completely when the would-be burglars set off alarm bells that roused the neighborhood. The robbers fled in hast.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Costello were pleasantly surprised Saturday evening when a number of friends planned and carried out a surprise housewarming for them. Two table lamps and a spice set were presented to the Costellos as a housewarming gift from the group.
