A quarter section of land in Marion County has been selected by the Air Force as the site for an ICBM Atlas missile-launching base. The location is about five miles northeast of Goessel, says Major A.L. Laney, public information officer of Schilling Air Force Base near Salina.

Construction on the new farmer’s cooperative grain elevator will start the first part of next week, according to officers of the association.

Tabor College in Hillsboro has been granted full accreditation as a 4-year college it was announced last week by Adel F. Throckmorton, state superintendent of public instruction.

Two Centre High students have been selected to attend Sunflower Boys State in Wichita this year. They are Leonard Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman A. Meyer and Jim Gutsch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gutsch of Burdick.

The Earl Olsen family has an unusual thing happening to them this year. They have three children graduating this year. A/3C Larry will graduate June 2 from Air Police School at Lackland Air Base, San Antonio, Texas, Rowena will graduate June 1 from Kansas Wesleyan University at Salina, and their youngest daughter Helen will graduate May 25 from Marion Junior High School.
