Several agencies have gone together in a joint effort to train women in Marion County in the skills of nursing, to prepare them for nurses’ aides in rest homes.
A decision has been made on the site for the new elementary school. The building will be located on a tract of land owned by Alvin Richter immediately north of the Marion Municipal swimming pool.
With obvious unconcern for the welfare of small communities along its route, the Rock Island Railroad has quietly advised its agents and officials that they intend to discontinue passenger train service in this area effective Sept. 1.
Ronald Oelschlager, John Christensen, Jim Gilbert, and Floyd Yaussi will attend the Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference for college and high school athletes and coaches from Aug. 16-21 at Estes Park in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richmond and family have moved to the Propp place this week. The farm home had been occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Riffel for several years. The Riffels now live in Wichita.
