The Marion County Commission voted Monday afternoon to locate the County Home for the Aged in Peabody. The action brought to a conclusion a matter that has caused more dissention, argument, and high tempers over the county than any problem in recent years.

Oil activity in Marion County is again on the increase, with three producers reported and two new tests announced during the past week.

Residents and travelers along the highway at the east edge of town are interested in the progress being made on the large new church being built by the Evangelical United Brethren congregation. Another church building that is making progress is that of the Marion Mennonite Brethren Church on South Coble Street.

An unusual happening occurred here in December— when triplet brothers, Harry, Larry, and Garry Winter, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Winter of Peabody, registered at the same time with the Selective Service office.

The engagement of Miss Patricia Longhofer to Richard L. McLinden is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Longhofer of Marion. A late August wedding is being planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Fisher moved from their residence quarters in the Marion County Jail Thursday and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Pankratz moved in the same and following days
