City commissioners Earl Kreuter, Ira Newcomer, and Kenneth Rigler are pictured as they greet the steady stream of people visiting the new Marion Municipal Water Plant last week.

Roger Pankratz, a Marion High School graduate, and a candidate this spring for his Ph.D. degree from Ohio State, has been named assistant professor of physics at Tabor College, Hillsboro, beginning with the fall semester.

A caution light is being installed at the east edge of town, near the city limits. It is at the Country Club hill and warns motorists they are approaching town and should reduce speed.

LeRoy Dreier, present head coach at Strong City, has been hired to be football coach at Marion next fall. He also will coach track, be assistant basketball coach, and teach physical education and typing.

The annual Marion Parent-Teacher home talent fund-raising event was Monday and Tuesday. It played to near capacity houses both nights. Each of the two scholarship awardees, Linda Bauman and Gilbert Johnson, spoke each evening, making short, effective thank-you talks to the audiences.
