A note of Hollywood styling burst forth on the street of Marion Friday evening with the temporary installation of the new type radiant fluorescent lighting units. The city is debating what type light to use. Another company is going to install their type of light one night for comparison with the ones tried Friday.

Appendectomies at the Marion hospital the past week were Roger Bitner, 10-year-old son of Mrs. Reby Bitner, Mrs. Dewey Unruh of Hillsboro, and Ida May Yakel, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Yakel.

E.F. “Brownie” Schroer purchased the Cozy Café from Art Klein Monday morning and he and Mrs. Schroer will continue operation of the popular spot under the same name.

With more than 100 airplanes on the field at one time, and more than 350 automobiles lined up in the parking area, the Marion airport took on the air of the big time Sunday when the Civil Air Patrol put on one of the finest air shows seen in this part of the country.
