A restaurant is in the process of being constructed at the Marion County Lake. Mr. and Mr. George King of Wichita are putting in the new establishment. The restaurant will be equipped with a dining room to accommodate large parties and private dinner.

Wharton Hoch, publisher of the Record-Review, is among 19 Midwestern publishers on four naval crafts who will observe cold weather exercises of the Atlantic Fleet.

“The Daffy Dills” has been selected as the annual junior class play. The cast consists of Charles Propp, Jeaneen Brose, Maurice Hollar, Janice Meisner, Max Herzet, Marjory Collett, Ethel Hiebert, Doris Meredith, Laura Jane Bredemeier, Marion Navrat, Edna Grimes, and Robert Newsom.

The girl’s quartet of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, composed of Donna Rae Pankratz, Lydia Meier, Kathryn Popp, and Marie Meier, sang at a Youth for Christ meeting in Emporia Monday evening.
