All the state highway signs along U.S.-77 around Marion and south 10 miles to the old junction with U.S.-50S have been removed by the department and traffic is now officially routed over the new road three miles to the east.
Two groups of Warriors met on the Peabody field Thanksgiving Day, one team from Marion and one from Peabody. The Marion tribe came through the battle victorious after scalping Peabody 27-0.
Two additional cases of polio have been reported this week to the county health office. Taken ill last week were Adolph Holub, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Holub, Tampa, and Monty Stuchlik, 2½-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stuchlik, Lost Springs.
Marion Creamery this week is further expanding its distribution of Wolf’s Grade A pasteurized and homogenized milk into Chase County. It now will be available in Cottonwood Falls and Strong City stores. It also is sold in Peabody, Florence, Elmdale, Clements, white City, Tampa, Durham, Hillsboro, Burns, and Marion.
