Unless some unforeseen obstacle crops up, final plans for the Marion Community Hospital will be ready for bids by November 15.
Good news for Marion is in evidence the past week. Lumber and other supplies to be used on the new American Legion building are coming in and a good share of it has been unloaded.
Charlene Ann Krch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Krch and George J. Svitak, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Svitak, were married Oct. 10 at St. John Nep. Church.
Girl Scout Troop No. 6 hosted a “Fly Up” service Monday evening at the Evanglical United Brethren Church. Girls who flew up were Bernadine Broadstreet, Mollie Brodhead, Carolyn Susdorf, Darlene Oblander, Cynthia Carney, Barbara Boyer, Marilyn Dixon, Rita Miser, and Carol Hollar.
Mrs. Vernon Regier is recovering satisfactorily from severe and painful injuries received when she fell from a ladder into a window while assisting her husband with some redecorating at their home last Thursday evening. She was rushed to the Marion hospital where she received treatment for a severe leg laceration. The leg later was placed in a cast which will remain for several weeks. She is improving satisfactorily.
Clive Jarvis, Jess Coons, Scotty Gound, Bill Ward and Dr. O.C. McCandless left last Thursday for Waldron, Colo., where they will hunt deer. They are expected home this weekend.
