Marion Kiwanis Club ended the year 1950 with the largest roster of members in its nearly 30 years of life. The total membership stood at 92, a net increase of about 25 during the past year.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob DeCatsye are opening their new eating-place, Bob’s Grill, on Monday of next week. All new fixtures have been installed and an attractive job of redecorating done at the location, two doors west of the post office.

Under a presidential proclamation on January 4, all doctors, dentists and veterinarians under 50 years of age must register on January 15 for possible military service

Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Hadsell entertained at an informal supper and party at their home Saturday evening to honor Mr. and Mrs. John H. Riddle and Dr. and Mrs. G.J. Goodsheller who left Tuesday for a winter vacation trip in Central America. Additional guests were Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Morse, and Dr. and Mrs. J.E. Tibbetts.

Miss Lydia Meier, bride-elect of Elmer W. Pankratz, was guest of honor at a china and crystal shower January 4 at the home of Mrs. Ella Socolofsky. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. David Schlotthauer and Lois and Mrs. H.B. Seibel and Lavina.

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Powell were in Topeka Monday to attend the inauguration of Governor Edward F. Arn.
