Progress has been steady on the new Marion gymnasium and vocational agriculture building. Much of the masonry work is about completed. The vocational ag shop on the west side is almost complete and soon the main floor will be ready to be poured.
The Marion police car will soon be equipped with a two-way radio set, a duplicate of those sets now in use on the two automobiles of the sheriff’s force.
Secretary of Labor Maurice J. Tobin this week announced the appointment of Horace W Sly of Marion as volunteer veterans’ re-employment rights committeeman for Marion County.
Miss Phyllis Rhode, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rhode, Tampa, became the bride of Lloyd Mueller, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.K.F. Mueller, Tampa, January 28 in St. John’s Lutheran Church.

The Music Division of Community Guild presented a program Tuesday at the Community Guild meeting. “Song of Norway” was the title of the program narrated by Mrs. L.L. Hadsell. Bonnie Paisley, Betty Tiemeier, June Schlotz, Elizabeth Ford, Lois Kelsey and Mildred Garrison sang the songs of Norway and Mrs. David Wheeler played the music portrayed in the story.
