Girls Scouts of Troop 4 met at the home of their leader, Mrs. David Wheeler, last Monday afternoon to make “Valentine Stew.” Each girl brought along some vegetables and then they were all mixed into one pot, cooked, and eaten. They were helped in their adventure by Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs. Edward Navrat, assistant leader.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Meier entertained at their home last Friday evening with a dinner to celebrate the 14th birthday of their son, Verlin. Guests were Norita Starkey, Nila Hoopes, Carol Beth Miser, Ann Davies, Carolyn Merrill, Janet Priddle, Judy Thatch, Carol Jean Allen, Wanda Propp, Ronnie Post, Joe Dvorak, John Waner, Bob Hiebert, Jerry Richards, Johnny Tuell, Laurence Griggs, Leon Lais, Johnny Williams, Kenneth Gardner, and Paul Roberts.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kieferle were married at Temple, Texas, Jan. 13. She is the former Miss Ila Mae McClelland. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Kieferle.
Kent Richmond, son of Mrs. Ray Kelsey, joined the Army last Wednesday and went to Kansas City for his physical examination and induction on Thursday. He will be trained at Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Marion Equipment Co., Inc., local International Harvester dealers will present a variety show, “Family Party,” free to the public Friday evening in the city auditorium. Alvin Propp, manager of the store, says the show is a good one and features many outstanding acts.
