The annual Spring Tractor and Merchandise Show, a red-letter event in Marion for many years, this year will be a two-day affair. The first night style show of the past two years will be eliminated and replaced with entertainment features. And, on the morning and afternoon of the second day, the annual Hereford Show will be held.

The Durham High School Hornets basketball team won the regional tournament in Junction City Friday night and will go to the state tournament in Hutchinson this Wednesday afternoon. The five team members who played every minute of the regular time without substitution or without fouling out were J.C. Unruh, Gus Hamm, Jim Donahue, Delmer Klein, and Ronnie Unruh.

Sgt. Dennis Youk and Sgt. J.D. Wright were released from active to inactive service in the Air Force last week at Samson Air Base in Geneva, N.Y.

Seven strapping, football/basketball playing boys are regularly enrolled in a cooking class in the home economics room at Marion High School and find the work most enjoyable. The boys include C.R. Moulton, Don Ecker, Leroy Roberts, Charles Propp, Dale Ecker, Ralph Richmond, and Tom Shields.

Bill Markham, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Markham and Kenneth Sly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Sly, are taking their basic training in the 11th Airborne Division, Camp Campbell, Ky.
