Confirmation was received last week from Williamson and Loebsack, Topeka architects, that contracts for the various phases of the Marion Community Hospital have been signed and that the prime contractor, N.F. English of Hutchinson, will move equipment to Marion for an actual beginning of construction early in April.

Kirchner Drug Store, one of Marion’s long-established businesses, was sold this week by Alfred Kirchner to Alfred A. Swann of Wichita.

Marion City Commission this week let the contract for handling the city’s sanitary service for the next year to Frank Bailey. The service calls for garbage pickup twice a week, trash twice a month in residential districts, and an everyday service in the business areas.

Edward W. Colburn, Joe Bill Gound, Patsy Harris, Donna Hobein, Bob Hein, and Les Powell Jr. are home from KU for the Easter vacation.

The following Marion people were among those who drove to Salina last Friday evening to attend the Guy Lombardo show: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ollenberger, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bernhardt and Marjie, Mr. and Mrs. Will Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Rosse B. Case, and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hein.

Six radio stars from station WIBW of Topeka will be featured attractions at Marion’s Spring Show. Stars on the program will be Miss Maudie, Dude Hank, the Miccolis Sisters, Bill Kirk, and Edmund Denney.
