Dave Greenemeyer has announced this week that he will re-open the Marion Bakery in the near future, with a full line of pastries and other bakery products.

Marion Hardware, owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Al Bernhardt, has been granted the franchise for General Electric appliances in Marion. They will continue to handle the Kelvinator and Crosley lines of refrigerators, it was stated.

High school enrollment for the current year is up over last year, totaling 184. The senior class still holds a slight edge with 54 enrolled. There are 47 each in the freshmen and sophomore classes, and 36 juniors.

Mrs. Earl Hett entertained with a picnic supper last Friday evening in honor of Patsy, who is leaving this week to enter St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Wichita. Invited guests were Dorothy Adams, June Avery, Nora Zeller, Donna Miesse, Norma Sly, and Joyce Keazer.

Roger Hannaford, Bob Reinke, Jimmy Garrison, and Kerns Allen, who left Wednesday following Army enlistment, are temporarily situated at Camp Crowder, Mo.

The Tampa softball team, winners of the regional tournament at Big Springs, carried their winning farther up the ladder last week by going four rounds in the state tournament at Great Bend.
