Officers elected for the Marion County Rural Life Association Tuesday evening were Kenneth Hett, Marion, president; Dalmer Kaufman, Peabody, vice president; Nadine Brewer, Peabody, treasurer; Virgil Obermeyer, Peabody, treasurer; Evelyn Hess, Peabody, and Catherine Heerey, Marion, reporters.

Charles Evans, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans, had the misfortune to get his hand in a pump jack Friday morning, injuring three of his fingers badly.

Plans are in the making for the official opening and dedication of Marion’s new gymnasium. Contracts have been signed with two nationally famous basketball teams, Philips 66 and the McPherson American Legion, to formally open the gym with an exhibition game.
