Marion and Florence public libraries are having their hands full these days trying to keep up with the flood of donated books that are arriving daily from far and near, almost from coast to coast and north to south.

Marion Bicycle Safety Club has rented the former Boyer Jewelry Store location on Main Street and is in the process of fixing it up for headquarters and a recreation room for members.

The first year juniors of the Evangelical United Brethren Church enjoyed a party Saturday afternoon in the backyard of the Edward Good home. Those attending were Clydeen Edmonds, Coleen Allen, Sharon Goentzel, Louise Ford, Marie Blankley, Edward Siebert, Bob Bass, Milford Hett, Keith Conyers, Deran Siebert, and Bill Good.

The Marion Bakery, closed since the flood, is re-opening this week. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Greenemeyer, who owned the building and operated the bakery several years ago, bought all the equipment and fixtures from E.R. Baker and have put the business back into full operation.

Large crowds of appreciative friends and customers attended open house Friday and Saturday at the recently remodeled Tiemeier Store in Lincolnville. The present manager of the store is Edgar Tiemeier. Others employed there are Viola Tiemeier, Mrs. Hannah Tiemeier, Mrs. Chas. Cheever, Mrs. L. C. Jones, part-time employee Mrs. Al Bosh, and meat department manager Bob Turner.
