The proposed Air Academy site issue has been sidestepped temporarily, at least until after the November elections. Marion has been one of the locations considered. So far, 195 sites are being considered, of which seven are in Kansas, with one of them being at Marion.

Marshal Lawrence Burnett has taken over the new car purchased by the city for the use of the city marshal. The car, a 5-passenger Chevrolet coupe, was delivered by Paul Seifert Motor Company. Bill Baker did the attractive gold leaf work on the door signs.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fisher, Jay and Connie have moved from Chicago to Marion. They are living temporarily with Mrs. Fisher’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hargett.

In a settlement between plaintiff’s guardian and attorney and defendant’s attorney, $250 was awarded this week to Miss Mary Coffin, as heir to the estate of James E. Coffin. The settlement came as a result of a damage suit filed in her behalf and in connection with the highway accident July 14, 1949, in which her brother, James Coffin, was killed.
