Marion’s increasingly popular Spring Show will be held next Thursday and Friday and everyone is invited to these two days of all free exhibits and entertainment. Highlighting the first day’s activities is the big Style Show elaborately put on by Marion fashion merchants.

Center of maintenance operations of the Marion County Highway Department is the new “county shop” located on North Coble Street.

Young people attending the annual Rural Life conference in Manhattan last Friday and Saturday were June Schlotz, Kenneth Hett, Max Dunn, Lois Schmidt, Pauline Best, Dorothy Backhus, Bernard Meysing, Harry Haas, and Jane Foster.

This newspaper received an interesting letter from Chaplain (Capt.) Emil J. Kapaun in Japan. He is assigned to a cavalry regiment, with several officers from Fort Riley and others from Fort Bliss, Texas. He says he is just across the street from the headquarters building of General MacArthur with “the American flag proudly waving in the breeze.”
