Certificates of award and pins acknowledging safe driving have been issued to truck drivers employed by Seymour Packing Company. Receivers of the awards include Jacob Wunsch, C.J. Ecker, 11 years; Bill May Sr., 8 years; Hank Sklenar, Levern Ottensmeier, Delphas Mehlinger, 3 years; and Henry Klose, 2 years.
The most recent step in more than half a century of progress was taken when The Marion Creamery, producers of dairy and associated products, purchased a 26-foot semi-trailer ice cream truck, one of the largest of its kind. Grade A milk, Marion Creamery butter, ice cream, cottage cheese, and cream are now delivered by this truck.
Jerry Schwemmer was honored with a party Wednesday afternoon to celebrate his 7th birthday. Guests were Larry and Gary Knackstedt, Sedan; Gailen Broadstreet, Jimmy DeCatsye, Molly Brodhead, Sandy Long, and Michael Schwemmer.
Miss Pat Harris, who is employed this summer as assistant Water Front director of the recreational program at El Dorado, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harris.
Miss Mary Ann LaMoine, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry LaMoine of Lincolnville, was presented in a recital June 11 at the College Hill Baptist Church, Wichita. She was among 13 accordion graduates who are pupils of Virginia Brisco, Wichita.
