Harold J. Keazer, young Marion businessman and World War II veteran, was sworn in Tuesday as postmaster for the city.

Presentation of one of the most important, and surely the most deserved award, was made at the conclusion of the recent district baseball tourney. Heckling champion, Joe Burkert, was presented with an appropriate cabbage head and a bunch of carrots. Burkert was dubbed the biggest “mental hazard to umpires, players, and other spectators.”

Jacob Meier of the Meier Shoe Clinic, left last week for Chicago to take a four-week course of study at the Scholl training school. During his absence, Miss Ella Meier is taking care of the business.

Graveside service will be conducted at the Marion cemetery Saturday morning followed by re-interment of the body of Pfc. Dietrich B. Rempel Jr., who lost his life July 7, 1944, in combat in Italy.
