Extensive remodeling and repair work has been done recently on the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Most of the work has been done by member volunteers.

Winslow Colburn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Braden Johnston, has moved to Marion from Lawrence and will be associated with the law firm of Johnston and Costello. Mr. and Mrs. Colburn are living in the Jack Scott rental at 906 Denver.

Mrs. Edward Good entertained a number of boys Tuesday evening in celebration of Tommy’s birthday, which was July 1, and Bill’s on July 4. Guests included Jan Hayen, Dickie Varenhorst, Tom Hayward, Timmie Williams, Gary Roberts, Lane Broadstreet, Jerry Shirley, Keith Conyers, Junior Wiebe, Robert and James Melton, Norman Priebe, Dennis Schroeder, and Leland Deines.

Margaret Dody, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Dody, and John Blankley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Blankley, were married Thursday afternoon at the Youngtown church.

Naval Cadet Alex Case, USN, has recently completed advanced flight training as a student pilot at the Corpus Christi, Texas, naval air station. He has received orders to report back to Pensacola, Fla., for carrier qualifications.

Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Tidwell and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Pierce will go to St. Louis for the Fourth of July weekend and take in some major league baseball games.
