Gleaming white in the sun is the new 30- x 40-foot cement block building of John Dixon’s on East Main Street, on the hill, This is the latest addition to the growing business section on the east edge of town. W.J. Hassinger has leased the west part of the front. The east part has been leased to John Brose.

One of Marion’s well-known and popular young businessmen Allen K. Kimble, 49, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon of a heart attack and was found in a field near a heavy hedgerow 11 miles south and 2½ miles west of Hillsboro.

Buckley’s Grocery, well-known local food store and oldest business of its kind in the city, has undergone complete remodeling and redecorating during the past two weeks.

Melody Louise Thompson celebrated her second birthday Sunday when her mother, Mrs. A.F. Thompson, entertained at a party in her honor. Guests were Dennis and Dickey Maggard, Shirley Ann Bredemeier, Clydeen Edmonds, Larry Jack Burkholder, Carol Sue Holub, and Mike and Mark Childs.

Miss Luella Regier, whose marriage to Mr. Ralph E. Popp will take place this month, was complimented at a shower at the home of Mrs. D.N. Ehrlich last Thursday evening.
