The 10 top winners of this year’s home Christmas lighting displays are Dr. T.C. Ensey, first, $25, Dick Jantz, second, $20, Albert Bernhardt, third, $15, and Marvin Schmidt, fourth, $10. Sylvester Vinduska, Ira Newcomer, Rev. Paul Shellhouse, Dr. E.K. Schroeder, Alvin Propp, and Pete Schambron each won $5.

Mrs. Blanche Penland announces the engagement of her daughter Madeline to Bill Crosley of Downs. The wedding is planned for early June.

City officers, employees, and their families gathered Friday evening in the basement of the city building for a potluck dinner and their yearly office party. Santa came during the evening bringing toys for the children and gifts for the grownups.

Pfc. Robert J. Navrat is now stationed somewhere in Germany. Bob, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Navrat, writes that he finds that part of Europe to be very interesting.

Max Dunn will show pictures of Saipan and Okinawa Dec. 29 at the Morning Start community meeting. Refreshments of sandwiches and fresh fruit will be served. Everyone is welcome.

Cecil Post and Coach Yaussi took two carloads of boys to the pre-season NCAA tournament at Kansas City last Saturday. Boys who made the trip were Jerry Brose, Eldon Cook, Dwight Fruechting, John Summerville, Ronnie Post, Harold Shields, Bob Ehrlich, and Ken Gardner.
