Captain Julian Greer, USN, of Marion is reported to have been commanding officer aboard the four-engine Navy Privateer patrol bomber missing on a flight from Alameda, Calif., to Seattle. Search boats and planes have failed so far to find any trace of the missing bomber.
Mary Burnett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Burnett, is a corporal in the WACS and is stationed at Belvidere, Va. She had a thrilling experience last Tuesday when she marched in the inaugural parade.
Eight Marion High School students ended the first semester with straight A’s. There is one senior, Myron Jantz, three juniors Nancy Broadstreet, Pat Kruse and Marilyn Reh, and four sophomores, Carolyn Merrill, Rowena Olsen, Janet Priddle and John Williams.

The following babies were born at St. Luke Hospital this week: Nancy Sue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rogers, Jan. 23; Richard Bradley, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Wall, Jan. 24; and Roberta Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Winters, Jan. 25.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heerey and family spent Sunday in Wichita and attended exercises at St. Francis Hospital nursing school in which their daughter, Patricia, received her nurse’s cap.
