Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vogt, Hillsboro, have moved to Marion and will open a landscaping service for homeowners of this area. Vogt has had several years experience at Vogt Nursery in Hillsboro, and with his father, will continue this type of service for both communities.

Mrs. E.G. Westerhaus entertained children Tuesday afternoon honoring her daughter Mary’s fifth birthday. Those present were Jorge Ann Gound, Anita and Roy Van Buren, Susan Lentz, and Don, Kathy, and Doug Westerhaus.

Miss Faith Seifert was the honoree of a crystal shower given last Thursday evening by Mrs. Agnes Price, assisted by Mrs. Roscoe Blankley and Donna Miesse. The valentine motif was carried out and one of the highlights was little Janet Varenhorst who, dressed as cupid, carried the gift packages to Miss Seifert.

The MHS girls’ quartet sang two numbers at the Athena Study Club meeting Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. George Miser. Judy Thatch, Ann Davies, Wanda Propp and Carolyn Merrill comprise this group. Wanda Propp also sang a solo.

A foundation is being laid on the lot just west of Ed Rittel’s workshop on South Cedar and Dick Bredemeier has purchased a house and expects to move it to this location soon.
