Harry F. Corbin, president of Wichita University, will give the commencement address this year at the graduation exercises of Marion High School seniors.

Mrs. Ada Grimes, who has been teaching for the past five years at Canada, will teach the Morning Star School next year.

Construction started early this week on a home for the chaplain of St. Luke Hospital, located west of the hospital entrance on the south side of the grounds. After the chaplain’s home is completed, construction on a nurses’ home will begin. It will be located on the north side of the grounds and will accommodate 15 nurses, according to Sister M. Ferdinand, hospital director.

The annual junior-senior banquet and prom was held Friday night at the American Legion hall. The seniors and juniors gathered at the Scottie Gound showroom and marched across the street to the Legion hall, which was decorated in a Hawaiian motif.

News reported from Marion’s St. Luke Hospital includes the birth during the week of three little girls. Ruth Louise Baxter daughter of Mrs. Ronald Baxter, was born April 18; Mary Catherine, daughter of Mrs. Max Robertson was born April 21, and Mrs. Walter Hett gave birth to a yet unnamed daughter on April 23.

The teacher of Finch School, pupils and parents went to Newton Monday on a sightseeing tour.
