Max Blackwelder and associates of Marion Motors & Equipment Co. have sold their building on East Main to the Powell Motor Company, local Dodge and Plymouth dealer. Blackwelder will relinquish the Oldsmobile, Massey-Harris and GMC franchises as of Oct. 31. Powell Motor Company will move in sometime during November.

Old settlers in the county who related interesting early experiences on Old Settlers Day included Gordon Applegate of Ramona who came to the county in 1868; John Bagby, Topeka, 1868; John Larkin, 1869; Dwight Linn, Mrs. Rempel, Mrs. Will Crist, Mrs. Edith Collett, and the Sampson brothers.

The Baptist church on East Main Street has undergone extensive repairs and improvements.

A committee of local men has been established to set up an Old Settlers Museum, to be a permanent depository for early-day relics. Named on the committee are Leslie Broadstreet, David W. Wheeler, Rosse Case, Leslie Powell, S.W. Gound, Max Jackson, Ed Navrat, L.L. Hadsell and Wharton Hoch.

Mrs. Leslie Ollenberger entertained Wednesday evening with a hamburger fry celebrating the fourth birthday of her daughter, Sidney Lynn. Friends present were Sandy, Beverly and Carol Kline, Beth and Karen Thole, Janet Varenhorst, Jimmy Ottensmeier, Garry Klose and Rosemary Ollenberger.
