The first meeting of the permanent committee named to look into the possibilities of establishing a historical museum here met Monday night and took the first steps toward bringing this new undertaking into being. Several locations, both of a temporary and permanent nature were discussed, but no action was taken.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bredemeier are the happy parents of a baby son to whom they have given the name Michael Ray, born Oct. 27 at St. Luke Hospital.

Leslie Powell Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Powell Sr., Marion, has qualified for pilot training in the Air Force Aviation Cadet Program having successfully completed the Aircrew Classification Test Battery at Lowery Air Force Base, Denver, Colo. He is awaiting an Aviation Cadet Class assignment which takes approximately 15 months.

Seventeen local Boy Scouts will leave Nov. 4 on a five-day trip to the Ozarks. Boys going are Lane Broadstreet, Eugene Hedrick, Bill Good, Gregory Henry, Bill Meredith, Dennis Navrat, Duane Reed, Dickey Rittel, Mickey Seaton, Paul Schmersey, Laurence Priddle, Wayne Thies, Junior Wiebe, Earl Winter, Edward Davies, David Montgomery, and Bruce Wingerd.

Mrs. Dean Batt was honoree at a cradle shower Monday evening at the home of Mrs. T.C. Ensey with Mrs. Warren Olsen as assistant hostess.
