Scottie George Gound announced this week that he is quitting business and will closeout his entire stock at the Firestone Store in Marion at sacrifice prices. The Gounds have not announced their plans for the future.

At the Nov. 9 meeting of the Pilsen Council No. 3423 of the Knights of Columbus, a resolution was adopted changing its name to Father Emil J. Kapaun Council No. 3423.

Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stika, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Klenda and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Konarik enjoyed a venison dinner at the recreation hall at the Marion County Lake last Thursday evening. The venison had been killed by the men on a recent hunting trip in Colorado.

Mr. and Mrs. George King announce this week that the popular Kingfisher’s Inn will be closed from Nov. 16 until about March 1st.

Carolyn Hoffman of Kansas City, fiancée of Warren Woerz, was honoree at a miscellaneous shower Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Abe Reh in Canada. Mrs. Wesley Siebert and Mrs. Carl Matz assisted.

Pat Kruse, president of the MHS Y-Teens, entertained officers and committee chairmen at a buffet supper at her home Tuesday evening. Girls attending were Ann Davies, Madora Richmond, Marilyn Reh, Wanda Propp, Carolyn Merrill, Neva Stenzel, Karen Brodhead, Glenda Razor, Carol Allen and Ginger Price.
